Trading in equities

For investors wishing to trade in German or international equities, Boerse Stuttgart offers superior price quality and reliable execution. These benefits are also available outside the main trading hours and for less liquid securities. Between 9:00 and 17:30 hours CET, investors can even trade DAX and MDAX equities without a spread.

Equities are company shares that are issued in securitised form in order to raise capital. For the company issuing the shares, this is a way of broadening its ownership base and therefore saving the interest payments that it would be obliged to make if it took out a bank loan, for example.

New rules on tick sizes for equities have been in force at all exchanges since 3 January 2018. The rule specifies the smallest admissible price movement for each equity in trading. If you receive an error message when you submit an order for equities to Boerse Stuttgart, this could be due to the new tick size rule.

If you need any help placing your order, please contact our customer support team on +49 (0)711 222 985 579 or send an email to anfrage@boerse-stuttgart.de.
