It also offers semiconductor intellectual property (IP) products. It operates through the Design Automation and Design IP segments. The Design Automation segment includes silicon design, verification of products and services, and Ansys products, and system integration of products and services. The Design IP segment refers to interface, foundation, security, and embedded processor IP, IP subsystems, and IP implementation services that serve companies primarily in the semiconductor and electronics industries. The company was founded by Aart J. de Geus, Bill Krieger, Dave Gregory, and Rick Rudell in December 1986 and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA.
