Axfood AB engages in retail and wholesale of food through store chains. It operates through the following operating segments: Willys, Hemköp, City Gross, Snabbgross, and Dagab. The Willys segment refers to Sweden’s discount grocery chain with a wide and deep assortment in Group-owned stores and online. The Hemköp segment offers through its Group-owned stores, franchise stores and online business an attractively priced and wide assortment with a rich offering of fresh products. The City Gross segment consists of hypermarket and e-commerce operations of one of Sweden's food markets. The Snabbgross segment focuses on one of Sweden's restaurant wholesalers with a customer base of restaurants, fast food operators and cafés. The Dagab segment handles the assortment, purchasing and logistics for the entire Axfood Group, as well as for other B2B customers; and also includes the online grocery store Mat.se, the meal kit company Middagsfrid, the online pharmacy Apohem, and Urban Deli, a combined restaurant and market hall concept with own food production. The company was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
