Borregaard ASA is a holding company, which engages in the business of supplying sustainable products and solutions. It operates through the following segments: BioSolutions, BioMaterials, and Fine Chemicals. The BioSolutions segment is involved in developing, producing, and selling biopolymers and bio vanillin from lignin. The BioMaterials segment focuses on specialty cellulose mainly for use as a raw material in the production of cellulose ethers, cellulose acetate, and other specialty products. The Fine Chemicals segment includes fine chemical intermediates for contrast agents and advanced bioethanol. The company was founded in 1889 and is headquartered in Sarpsborg, Norway.
