Its business model offers investors commodity price leverage and exploration upside but with a much lower risk profile than a traditional mining company. It operates through the following business segments: Gold, Silver, Palladium, Cobalt, and Other. Wheaton was founded by Peter Derek Barnes on December 17, 2004 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
